IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.

Active region NOAA 13825 was a major point of interest for several space-borne and ground-based observatories in September 2024. As this region approached the Sun's western limb, it produced a C-class flare, forming a pair of bright ribbons in the lower solar atmosphere. As luck would have it, the raster of IRIS captured both ribbons simultaneously, offering a rather rare view of these structures.
