IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.
Flaming eruption on the Sun

On May 17, 2024 IRIS observed the evolution of a large solar flare. This large eruption evolved in a flaming motion as the energy release spreads to different parts of the solar atmosphere.
