On January 22, 2024, during a high cadence flare program, IRIS was observing an active region in hopes of detecting a solar flare. IRIS successfully captured a small flare directly beneath the slit used to collect light for solar spectra recording. The flare was observed at the bottom of the field of view (FOV) characterized a by a strong brightening.
