IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.

An M-class flare was observed with IRIS in coordination with the Japanese Hinode satellite and Caltech's NuSTAR mission, which primarily observes hard X-ray events. Flares release tremendous amount of energy and cause impact on space weather
