This scan taken by IRIS on March 24, 2024 shows active region NOAA 13615 in its complex and fascinating configuration, with brightenings and energetic events going on between the two sunspots. As we approach the solar maximum, solar activity is increasing more and more, and active regions, such as the one above, are becoming more numerous.
