IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.
Swirling loops

This bright flare was captured at limb directly under the IRIS slit. An initial jet of material is visible off the limb before swirling brightening occurs on disk followed by twisting upflows of material and loops.
