IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.

Coronal snake

Plasma motion along complex and bent magnetic fields is seen in the corona of an active region. Generally magnetic fields are a semi-circular shape, but here you can see a "dogleg" shape. It is likely as a result of magnetic reconnection.
