IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.
Apparent interaction between coroal loops in AR 12882

Here shows an observation from a recent IRIS collaboration with Solar Orbiter on active region AR 12882. Some short coronal loops rise, with flaring occurring beneath the middle part of these loops. Those rising loops appear to have interacted with the nearby region, trigging a second flare. During this whole process, IRIS has its slit along the center part of the rising coronal loops.
