IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.
Small Flare at the limb

Observations of flares anywhere on the sun are always exciting, but sometimes it is good to get a different perspective on them. By observing flares which occur at the limb of the sun, such as in this video, we can see see how the flaring process evolves, not from a top down perspective but from a side on view. This can lead to many new discoveries about the process that drive solar flares.
