IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.
Dancing fingers

Fingers of material appear to dance in the Sun's atmosphere as the magnetic forces fight with gravity to keep material suspended. If you look closely, you'll also see a jet that erupts violently as a flare occurs.
