IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.
Plasma Flows During a Solar Flare

This movie shows plasma flowing along magnetic loops that connect bright flare ribbons during a small solar flare. There are some particularly interesting motions toward the end of the movie, where the plasma moves back and forth, as if attached to a vibrating string.
