IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.
Coronal jets and a C-class flare

While AR 12644 had all but rotated behind the limb, it still remained very active. This C II slit-jaw movie shows a coronal jet recurring over the span of several hours as well as a C2.3 flare right off the middle of the field of view. High resolution observations such as these provide a unique view on the dynamics and fine structure of these eruptive phenomena.
