IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.

The Swedish 1-M Solar Telescope (SST) is a frequent collaborator with IRIS. Data is often collected simultaneously by the two instruments in order to develop a more complete picture of the Sun; with each instrument providing a unique look into the solar target. At the end of September 2020, both instruments targeted Active Region 12773 for simultaneous data collection. IRIS performed a large and dense scan in the region which can be seen above in the 1400 (top right) and 2796 (top left) angstrom wavelengths. The data taken by SST can be seen in the bottom portion of the movie. These datasets highlight the vast amount of information that can be obtained from a single location on the Sun based on the kinds of observations being performed. Special thanks to Luc Rouppe van der Voort and the SST team for sharing this data!
