IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.

Off-limb eruption

The Sun is getting more active as we get to solar maximum. This majority of this IRIS observation shows loop structures above the Sun's surface that show flows, but otherwise seem stable. Then, suddenly, a large eruption is ejected into space.
