IRIS Movie of the Day
At least once a week a movie of the Sun taken by NASA's Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) is posted by one of the scientists operating the instrument.
A Series of Solar Flares

On April 29, 2021, the same active region produced a series of four B-class flares over a span of about five hours. The flares became progressively larger and brighter, ending in a B6.2. As solar flares go, B-class flares are relatively weak. As the Sun enters a period of greater activity, we can expect flares to become more frequent and more energetic in the near future.
